I love food {and shopping}

Thanksgiving was splendid. : )
As planned, I ate much.
But maybe not as much as my niece, Ruby. She is a champion eater. I kid you not.

Homemade hot apple cider...

Be still, my heart!

Heavenly white rolls... shiny with butter.

We eat our sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top.
Every year.

Pumpkin cream pie that I made...
Despite the many sufferings during its construction, it turned out yummy.

It would not be Thanksgiving without candles!

I took family pictures of my brother and his family for their Christmas card.
We are all very excited that Ruby now has enough hair for a pigtail.

Virginia Grace.

I love this kid.

Black Friday shopping today? Oh yes. But not quite so hard-core as the last couple years.
We didn't get out of the house until close to 7:00 AM, and only went to two stores.
I didn't buy anything for myself. *halo*
I am seriously going to start a Black Friday savings account or something...
every year I wish I had a wad of money to blow.
Did any of you get super-awesome deals?

  1. Those kids are so adorable!

We had marshmallows on your sweet potatoes too :) Yum....

Your pie looks yummy... where's my slice? :P

*gazes in awe at your halo*

  2. heehee...we melt butter, brown sugar, AND marshmallows all over our sweet potatoes. ;)

Glad your Thanksgiving was a splendid one!

  3. We put marshmallows on ours too. ^_^ I have never been Black Friday shopping... :)

  4. I did get a few good deals- though they were all mostly small it adds up! Beautiful pics!

  5. WOW! Lovely photos!...I'm just about dying over those rolls. ;) ;)

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! :)

  6. Great pictures! I got a JouJou trench coat for $25!!! It is normally $70! I also got some boat shoes for $25... normally $100! Yay! I know what you mean about the BF baking account though... :)

  7. Wow those rolls looked so yummy.

  8. I heard about your pie, I'm jealous, Katelyn and Daniel raved about it today. :)
I went shopping, starting at 5 am for Black Friday, we hit 7 stores!!! The most I've ever done and the earliest, we usually don't get out until 9 am. :P
I wasn't so angelic, they had 1/2 price on DVD's, so I bought Robin Hood and one other for $16.
That's all I spent, but it was great fun.
(and I agree, Ruby is a champion eater, especially with ice cream) Great post!!!

  9. I found some great shirts at Target that look like a knock off of J.Crew, and I'm totally in love because one was $4 and the other was $7! =]

  10. My mom puts marshmallows on our sweet potatoes too. But I hate sweet potatoes. The End.
I am a HUGE lover of mashed potatoes.... bestest food ever! :) Oh, I wanted to go Black Friday shopping too, at midnight, or 3 a.m but my parents weren't up to it.... so we didn't go! But maybe next year...... ttul
p.s. check out my blog... I got the woodchuck commercial on there! LOL

  11. Add corn to your mashed potatoes! :) Mmmm, that's how I always do it. Beautiful pics and relatives!

  12. I am a mashed potato lover, too! They're seriously like my favorite food! ;)
We went Black Friday shopping...lots of fun! I only spent $20. I was so proud of myself. Hehe ;) My sister needed some new sweaters, though and ended up saving over $100! Very sweet! I like the savings account idea. lol
I'm glad you had a great Thanksgiving!

  13. Little Virginia has the prettiest blue eyes I have ever seen! No, we don't tend to go shopping on black worn out from the day before. :) Haha! :)

  14. Everything looks so delicious! Looks like a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  15. I stay home on Black Friday..... I can't handle the crowds, it makes me very unhappy. That, and the last time I did go shopping on Black Friday, my mom and I got into a fender-bender and it scared the crap out of me.
I stayed home and shopped on line. :)

  16. Love those mashed potatoes with all the melty butter!

  17. That all looks so good! I love thanks giving! I got up at like 5:00 am! I never do that... My sister and me went! I got a lot of cute stuff! Have a great day!!

  18. Mm those white rolls have my mouth watering.. they look delicious!!

  19. LOVE the photos!
I was just wishing for recent pics of Virginia...I haven't seen her for almost 3 whole weeks! 8-O

  20. Gosh - all of these images are gorgeous!!!

  21. Your photos are ama-za-zing. I felt like I was there! I could smell the food! I enjoyed it because I didn't get to go to a Thanksgiving dinner this year.
Also? Those two precious babies are adorable.

  22. Those little girls are so adorable and their eyes are so STUNNING!!!!!!! I also love mashed potatoes!!!!!!

Comments make my day.
