Right now, more than anything, I want to go.
To Paris for a day. To Africa for a week. To Italy for a month.
To Mexico for the rest of my life.
It's not that I want to leave. I just want to go. I want to step onto a plane, press my nose against the window the whole way, and wander around Italy in a striped dress, carrying only my camera. I don't want to come back until I'm totally, sobbingly homesick.
If you could just go, right this moment, where would you go and what would you do?
Right now, I'll go snuggle with my squishy baby niece, and eat yet another Krispy Kreme donut. There might also be ice cream.
London, England. Hands down. Then, I would explore all of Europe. New York City and Baltimore are close seconds, though. I love those cities.
ReplyDeleteHmm. Methinks I would go to Paris. That's what a lot of people would say, I know. But I'm learning French and I absolutely adore it and hope to be fluent someday. And I'm just in love with the whole idea of France, and it's a beautiful city and country. My sister was able to go there a couple years ago, and I can't wait until I get a chance. I'd want to go all over Europe though, and New Zealand definitely has to happen someday. ;]
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about wanting to go, but not necessarily leave. Story of my life. Let's take a trip together someday, eh? "Travel the world" is a big item on my bucket list.
<3, Jenn
I would backpack across Ireland with my camera, Bible, journal and guitar. <3 Of course, those items wouldn't be very much used as I would find myself just sitting and enjoying the landscape. :)
ReplyDeleteI recently had a dream my plane to wherever got stuck in Paris, it was kinda awesome.
ReplyDeleteA couple days ago I watched an old 80's movie called Brewster's Millions where a man inherits a fortune but his crazy relative (to teach him a lesson) made him spend 30 million dollars in 30 days with the catch that he couldn't buy anything that would be an asset. Basically just blowing the money on crazy stuff that he couldn't keep. The movie was okay but I had a great time spending the rest of my day dreaming about what I'd blow 30 million on. Hair and makeup professionally done everyday? Yes. Orchestra to play music for me at home? Yes. Fly to Paris for lunch with all my friends? Yes.
That was a tangent but the point takes me back to travel. And yes. Wow that was SUCH a rabbit trail, lol.
The UK, Ireland, Australia/New Zealand. Especially Ireland. I'm *this close* to being obsessed. :)
ReplyDeleteYep.
I'd go somewhere WARM with lots of SUNSHINE. :) Lay on the beach all day and just let life go for a while. :)
ReplyDeleteI've really been getting the itch to GO somewhere, too. I need an adventure. I think we should take our simultaneous France dreams as a sign from God, and take off together.
ReplyDeleteOkay?
Okay.
You pay for the airfare and I'll...bring the donuts.
I would go to Europe. Specifically to England. I would visit every single place that is remotely connected with Jane Austen and C.S. Lewis (my two favorite authors). I would visit castles and see English gardens and tour gorgeous country estates. Then I would probably head off to Ireland, Scotland, France, and Italy. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd then when I got back to the US, I would take a long roadtrip through all the states I've never been to (and that's a lot). I would also go back to Disney World. And then maybe up to Canada to Prince Edward Island?

Funny story...I'm getting on a plane to Paris on Saturday. But if I could choose a different place? (My parents planned the Paris trip) I would choose New Zealand. I fell in love when I saw The Lord of the Rings trilogy and now I just have to go there.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to Paris in about a yearish!!!!! I can't wait, BTW, I looove the outfit!
ReplyDeleteGrrrs...I'm itching to go somewhere too! I'd loveee to go to Mexico!<3 Oh, how I'd love to go there! *sigh*
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean, girlfriend...but I'd miss you ;(
ReplyDeleteSee you in a couple hours ;)
Where would I go... Somewhere really hot with sand and waves or really windy with mountains and snow. But I have way too much to do now! :P
ReplyDeleteI would go to Europe... I would go and ride one of those red buses, I would go, and set an example for my Lord Jesus! (And drag my mom where ever I may go!)
ReplyDeleteI would go to the Davis Mountains in West Texas! Love, love, love that place!!!

Oahu, Hawaii.. Climb the Eiffel Tower.. Ride the London Eye.. Explore the pyramids, the Barrier Reef, the safari.. Oh, so many adventures!
ReplyDeleteFollow my adventures..

I'd love to go to Israel, England, Scotland, France, Italy, and New Zealand. I'd also love to experience riding on a plane or a boat since I haven't tried either yet.
ReplyDeleteAMEN! Europe has been calling me since the day I was born. :)

New Zealand- climb some mountains, gaze at the gorgeous scenery, swim in some beautiful, clear water... Italy for sure- touring the Colosseum would be amazing, Sweden- climbing in the Alps ;), Venice -ride on a gondola, Germany- I desperately want to go back to Wittenburg, Japan-Tokyo, and Egypt...
ReplyDeleteI suppose I'm gonna have to wait until I'm old and rich, lol ;P
Well, Ireland, of course! :)

Oh, and I have to say, you do my contentment meter no good! First, the Lola bag, now this adorable striped dress. Not at all age or size appropriate for me, but luscious!
ReplyDeleteLondon. Scotland. Ireland. Spain. Italy. Rome. South Africa. Australia. The North Pole. China. Thailand... (yes i love to travel. and i've never seen these places!)
ReplyDeleteHands down, Africa. Traveling there has been on my to do list for four years now. Still hasn't happened..yett.
ReplyDeleteandd I'd also hop on a plane and visit all my lovely online friends that I never ever get to see(:
btw, my only pair of red shoes got too small:( BUT I did donate them so someone else can enjoy some red shoes:)
Italy/Europe and the Caribbean. And I'd go with this one special person... =) I love those shoes btw!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'd go to Cali, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and all the North eastern states. :)

ReplyDeleteI would go to...
ReplyDelete1. Italy. My mom was born there.
2. Ireland. My adopted homeland.
3. France.
4. Caledonia. Which is Scotland, of course, but Caledonia is such a pretty word...
5. England.
6. Wales.
(pretty much every inch of the British Isles....
7. Switzerland, Germany, etc...
8. Europe! Obviously.
9. basically anywhere on planet earth. =)
That sounds... absolutely amazing. I've been wishing the same thing; just hop on a plane and GO!! I think my destination would be somewhere in Europe, for sure....
ReplyDeleteI have the same feeling. The walls of my house seem to be closing in on me––yes, my wanderlust is that bad!! So I have a little something called "the Western Jar" where I'm saving money to visit the west (Oregon included) and hopefully settle there soon (!!).
ReplyDeleteBut... to be in Ireland? That's the stuff of my dreams.
In Jesus,
Grace
Oh my goodness. I feel the same way! I absolutly love *going* places. Exploring, adventuring. I would totally go to Holland. Like now. I would go to all the street markets and eat fresh Stroopwafels, dropjes and cheese, and I would go to the Keukenhof. The Keukenhof is basically a HUGE GORGEOUS garden/park filled with mossy trees and tulips and such. Google it for images. Really.
ReplyDeleteAaah this is one of my favorite quotes ever! I really really really really want to go to a lake in the middle of nowhere with a tire swing and someone I really like. I just wanna find some place beautiful to get lost.
ReplyDeleteI'd be the blubbering girl sitting next to you in the plane on the way back from Italy, clutching a camera, suitcase, and on the phone saying, "Mommy, it was B-B-Beautiful!!!! And I'm s-s-sorry about your credit cards!!!"
ReplyDeleteI'm with you! Where are we going?
ReplyDeleteHmm...how Italy and Greece for a few months to get a good tan before heading further east to Israel and Egypt and see the sights there for a few more before going to England hang around there being proper and elegant for a few months? Sound good? :D
I would go to Normandy, France. I would run from here to there in a dress and ballet flats with a camera round my neck. That's where I'd go. :D
ReplyDeleteI'd explore all the countries in Europe. From France, to Britain, to Spain and Italy, to Greece etc. etc.
ReplyDeleteI'll make sure to bring my baby Canon (DSLR cam) with me. (:
Paris (repeat, I know.), Australia, New York City, Florida (beach mostly), and Ireland (since I saw "Leap Year"...:) ) But I'm pretty happy here, too.

Nice blog! I would love to visit everyday to read your posts. it's very interesting and when i first got in it, I totally loved it:)
ReplyDeletestop by my blog!
I completely understand what you mean. The feeling of just GOing on a trip would be fantastic! I would go to France.. I'd love to sit at a little cafe under the eiffel tower with an old book and a croissant! Or Japan... kooky and quirky and everything I love!
ReplyDeletei totally love it :) i want to go to greece really bad!!! as well as italy and ireland!!! on mamma mia there is an island that i also want to go to, it looks amazing. i have however gone to Belize and that was the most awesome thing ever. You should add that to your list :)
ReplyDeleteI would probably want to go to the Caribbean. And sail around and stare at the amazingly blue water and think of Jack and Barbossa and Will and Elizabeth.
ReplyDeleteI feel you lady!
ReplyDeleteIf I could go anywhere right now, honestly, it would be a wheat field in the summer. I have always wanted to ride my horse through one at a full gallop. Can you imagine?
Or go and backpack through New Zealand.
Either journey would suffice!
Definitely, Italy. France next, and then India. But that is just the very begging of a LONG LONG LONG list :) I crave pure, lovely, amazing real Italian food every single day of the week. And now I want some. Great :)
ReplyDeletetake me to africa with you!! pleaseandthankyou. :)
