the week before...everything else.

We spent the first part of this week at the beach. I haven't been on the beach since Mexico, (in January), so I was way overdue.

I can't get this song out of my head... ♥

Living on the west coast, less than two hours from the beach, has got me pretty spoiled. I highly suggest it.

My sister says this looks like "nope". No, I did not write that on the beach. It says "hope". ; )

The house was adorable. I could totally live there forever.

Loved these stairs...

So cute and garret-ish. : )

My #1 criteria for houses: lots of light. Not only do I shrivel up and die if it's all dark and gloomy, but photography is extremely difficult. : )

They had the amazing Coke glasses, which I am collecting. They were made to drink cranberry juice out of.

No beach trip is complete without powdered donuts.

Very random, very awesome big wooden cat.

I love how the tennis racket is labeled. It makes the whole thing make so much more sense. Not.

All happy, under the influence of sun and the beach and yummy things to eat, and un-distracted (no wireless...gasp), I finally buckled down and typed up the rough draft of my graduation speech.

My creative process included drinking a lot of weak, decaf coffee (I'm not so good with the coffee maker, apparently), and scribbling down several pages of random verses and quotes.

One week until my graduation. Yikes, hallelujah and please God, don't let me throw up during my speech.

  2. You're so lucky to live so close to the beach! My summer doesn't start for close to a month, so this blog post was like a mini-vacation for me during the middle of my day. Thanks so much!

  5. My big sis graduated last summer and I had to speak at her graduation. I'm not a good public speaker to begin with and than I waited till the last minute to write my speech...yeah, not good. :D Good luck with the speech writing!

    Love,
    Nana

p.s. Gorgeous house, btw. Reminds me of ours out on this little island in the middle of no where. :)

  9. I used to live at the beach, like litarally AT the beach, so I completely understand what you were saying like you were overdue for it. Your beautiful pictures bring back so many memories :)
I love the pic with the manatee, well maybe the manatee himself does not know what the item he is holding is so they needed to label it for HIM! idk I still think its pretty cute :)

  14. Beautiful vacation!! So jealous! ;) Think my favorite part was the speech writing and your garret-ish room! (I'm off the hook for a graduation speech, but I had to recently write a 50 word bio of myself for the graduation program! It was torture)

  31. Ha! Funny thing is, before you even mentioned the stairs and I saw the photo of them, I was thinking, "Those stairs are adorable!" I totally agree with you on the house being *adorable*.

Oh and also - I am a *tad* bit jealous that you live on the West Coast AND less than two hours from the beach. It takes us four and a half to five hours to reach the beach from where we live (we live on the East Coast).

Oh and no worries - you won't throw up during your graduation speech. Why? Because I will not let you. ;)

Have a lovely day, Polka Dot!
