mine was happy.

This is what I got for Valentine's Day.
And it's all I needed. : )

One delicious red rose from my oldest brother, Daniel. He's married and has two kids and he's still thoughtful like that. As I have stated numerous times before... Older brothers rock. In a big, big way.

So yes, my Valentine's Day was superb. Even though all of my chocolate bars were stale and so I didn't get to overeat as planned. With one red rose, I can take on the world.

How was your day? I hope you had a perfect day with your sweetie... or if you don't have one, I hope that you weren't cynical and celebrated "single's awareness day". I hope that you rejoiced because of the people in your life who love you, and because of the awesome God who is way. more. special than that boy that you don't have just yet.

What a beeeautiful rose! I have a valentine, but he's nearly 500 miles away... so we skyped. He sent me roses that look *very* much like yours! Happy belated V-day, and thanks for the awesome pictures of your perfect valentine present. :)

  12. May I still enter the giveaway?

One of my favorite love stories is that of musician/surfer/film maker Jack Johnson and his wife Kim. The story goes that he was always shy around girls, but he made eye contact with Kim in the college cafeteria, and they just stared at each other for like 15 minutes, they just kept waiting for the other to look away, but they couldn't! Then she just came over to him, and he saw that there was just all this milk on her lunch tray, and he said ' so you like milk' or something like that, and the rest is history. they were married, and I'm pretty positive they are still together.
I only know this because my dad used to play in a band with someone he plays with, and we heard it from him.
I just think it is a really sweet, genuine, almost innocent story that turned out so well and that's why I like it. ( =

    Beautiful rose, by the way!

  15. I do sometimes wish I had an older brother. To kind of pave the way, you know? But I celebrated my sixteenth Valentine's Day anniversary...with myself. It was nice. I didn't feel like a stuffed frog or box of chocolates from that special someone (whom I have yet to find) would have made me any more content than I already am. :)
