I keep my eyes glued to the clock for when it turns, and I would never dream of sleeping through it or just in general, not doing something epic right at the transition of the year. I'm just not one of those chill people who doesn't make a big deal about things.
My goals/resolutions/random things that I want to do this year include:
- get my driver's license
- actually journal (at least occasionally...)
- take a self-defense class
- buy another lens
- see a movie on opening night
- get (and stay) organized
- do ten pushups at once
- run a mile
- memorize a book of the Bible
- read The Lord of the Rings books cover-to-cover (I never have--I'm so ashamed)
- make a budget
- choose to be cheerful, even when it doesn't seem like there's anything to be cheerful about
- live more consciously & deliberately
2011 was crazy, dramatic, and beautiful. I'm giddy to find out what God has in store for me this year.
here's to new beginnings.
Great goals. Very attainable too. Good luck lady!

Happy 2012 to you! I hope and pray that your year is fabulous and that it surpasses all of your expectations in every way imaginable!
ReplyDeleteGod Bless!

I read The Lord of the Rings from cover to cover because my dad said I had to before he would let me watch the movies (it ended up actually a little more complicated-read some, watch some). I have since made myself sick of the movies, so I took a hiatus which will last until the last months of next year when I will read The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings and watch the Lord of the Rings-so that I will be fully prepared for the Hobbit.
ReplyDeleteI also read the Silmarillion which is kind of cool although it has some seriously disturbing parts. Sorry for such a long comment.
it's okay. i have read lotr either. i'm such a lazy person. i *love* that photo. great post :))

Happy New Year! Beautiful photo. And great goals. The budget one is something that needs to be on my list, too. ;)

I love the cinnamon stick photo!!
ReplyDeleteI think seeing a movie on opening night would be awesome. Hope you can do it.
Great Picture! Happy New Years :)
ReplyDeleteNew beginnings are wonderful things!!! Happy New Year! :)
ReplyDeleteI feel the same about new beginnings. I've been waiting for the new year for a while, and I'm excited!!
ReplyDeleteCool list! I haven't read the "Lord of the Rings" books from cover-to-cover either. But now that "The Hobbit" is coming out this December, I'm going to try to finish what I've started and hopefully read all of them before too long. ;)
ReplyDeleteAlso, being cheerful when it seems like there's nothing to be cheerful about, is what I hope to accomplish this year too. :)
Take care!
I know that if you pray and ask for help, the Lord will help you meet all of your goals :)) Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLove your list. I can relate to some of them.
ReplyDeleteI have already accomplished some too.
Take a self-defense class, I'm on it. My brother-in-law gives classes for our church. (He's really good.) Even though they are hard and learning, they are a lot of fun too. Especially since I get to do it with people that I hang out with all the time. :)
Be cheerful, that is something that I am always working on.
Have a great year!

Those are some awesome goals! By the way I love that photo.
ReplyDeleteThose are some great goals, sister! I'm still working on my list. I'm glad you're not one of those boring people (like me) who might be just as happy getting some extra sleep as the new year rolls around! ;)
ReplyDeleteI am trying to be more organized and stay organized for one of my New Year resolutions. This will be a challenge for me at least. :-)
ReplyDeleteLovin' your list. Getting a drivers license on my 16th birthday this year is on my list as well:)
ReplyDeleteNothing like a fresh start.
ReplyDeleteGreat goal, Polka Dot! I've never been good at keeping a journal...I should make that *my* goal as well. Ha! :)
Blessings for 2012!

Getting my driver's license is on my list of goals too :)
ReplyDeleteI had to read The Lord of the Rings Trilogy before I watched the movies. They are the only books I actually stayed up past my bedtime to read.
I can totally agree about making a ton of goals :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a fan of new beginnings. Wouldn't trade that staring at the stars with friends moment right after the new year hit for anything.
ReplyDeleteGreat goals, lovely girl :) Keep us updated on how they go!
Here's to 2012!! <3
You should read LOTRs in prep for the Hobbit in Dec., then come see it opening night with me! Also, I'm thinking about trying to memorize Phillipians. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI too have to have a dramatic flare for everything! Great goals... bonne chance!
ReplyDeleteI totally love your resolutions, the photo is beyond gorgeous, the bokeh is amazing. The end.
ReplyDeletep.s. You look just like Hailee Steinfeld! Both of you, being crazy beautiful.
hoping your year is filled with HAPPY! Hugs
ReplyDeleteI've read the whole LoTR cover to cover about 10 times, since I was introduced to it about 7 years ago. I think the first time I read the series, I did it in about 2-3 weeks. Heavy reading, big time. :D They are one of those series of books that you read only about once every 6 months to 1 year.

I love your blog! I don't usually comment on blogs, but yours is much too wonderful to pass up. I love the movie reviews & fashion advice. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post. I have a lot of goals this year, maybe I should work on making them more attainable!
Happiest of Happy New Years to you!
