words

I am obsessed with quotes, song lyrics, word art, typography... basically anything to do with words. Pinterest is feeding my obsession... if you follow me, chances are I've ransacked your boards, looking for awesome words. :)

You might already know about my Pooh quote love. Something about them--so perfect for me.
I just might write this out (with illustrations, so she knows what to watch for...) and put it up on my baby girl's bedroom wall.

so.

a) if you don't have pinterest... you need to. just do it.

b) any ideas how to make a text thing like this?
I only ever add text in Picnik, and I still can't figure out how to do anything without a photo.

c) have any favorite quotes that I can add to my beautiful quotes list?
I'm kind of working on something that might show up on here eventually...

  1. When I've wanted a pretty quote I usually create a new image using GIMP (you could use some other photo thing as well) and I make the background a pretty color and then use a pretty font with sometimes a pretty color or just white, to type out the quote with. But I don't know how to make really cool stuff like that Mary Oliver quote in rainbow colors like you do. ;)

  3. I love quotes especially from pooh bear. I love that taylor swfit quote also. You are good at finding little things to make my day, Polka Dot.

  4. I usually upload a picture to Picnik, go to the doodle option, and completely cover the picture in white. Then I add the text. :) You're on pinterest?? I just made an account recently...it's so awesome... *grins madly*

  5. I've heard so much about Pinterest I think I really need to try it out. :)

Hmmm...favorite quotes... Well, on the Pooh topic one of the greatest:

"Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."
    A. A. Milne | Winnie the Pooh

and one of my top three fav quotes:

"We are not endowed with real life, and all that seems most real about us is but thee thinnest substance of a dream- till the heart be touched. That touch creates us."
    Nathaniel Hawthorne

and an all around great one from a great woman:

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." Eleanor Roosevelt

I'll stop now before I overwhelm you with quotes. *sigh* I love quotes.

Well, when I make word things like that I just use my photo editor (Corel Paintshop Pro X3). It is fairly inexpensive. Just create a new project and start adding text in different fonts and colors to your hearts content!

One last thing (and then I'll end this obnoxiously long comment), that Taylor Swift quote is beautiful...and so true!

    Hugs,
    N

    quotes are awesome!!
    I love quoting from movies
(especially when you can use the quotes in everyday life).
some of my fave quotes are:

    "I liked white better." -Gandalf
    (not in the movie)

"Coincidence, I think not!" - from a BUNCH of different movies!

My sister and I quote the entire movie The Incredibles, we've basically memorized the whole thing! :)

  17. Hey! It's so nice to find a kindred spirit randomly... Love your quotes- I'm a wordy person as well. About making the quote images on Picnik, all you need to do is open up Paint (most computers have it programmed under accesories if you've never used it before) and then just save the blank square. I called mine 'blank canvas' and then I just open it in Picnik and stick words over the top. Simple as that :)
Thanks for making me smile with each post,
    Gypsy ♥

  21. You could probably make something like what is shown in Microsoft Publisher. It's an older program that came with Office. You can make a graphic art of your text, then save your file as a picture instead of as a Publisher file.

  23. I love words, quotes, typography and pinterest!! *grin*

Here are a few quotes I love:

"I WANT TO MAKE BEAUTIFUL THINGS, EVEN IF NOBODY CARES." -SAUL BASS

"Whatever comes," she said, "cannot alter one thing. If I am a princess in rags and tatters, I can be a princess inside. It would be easy to be a princess if I were dressed in cloth of gold, but it is a great deal more of a triumph to be one all the time when no one knows it." - Frances Hodgson Burnett

  25. Hello dear!

Well, I do believe you already know my feelings for pinterest. *cheesey grin*

BUT! If you want to create a quotey something-or-other and you only have picnik at your disposal, just upload a blank or white photo/file/whatever. Or one with a cool background even. OR a photo and put words on that.

You know, the possibilities are endless. It's the words. Words have marvelous potential. (I'm kinda proud of how poetic that sounded.)

"The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible."
    ~Arthur C. Clark
