Day 30: A motto or philosophy {this is more like a prayer for my life}

Lord,
 make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon:
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope
where there is darkness, light
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.

Day 29: Hopes, dreams and plans you have for the next 365 days.

{another picture I took in Seattle}

Yes, I'm still doing this thing. Only one more day after this!

I hope
to grow in my relationship with God,
my family
and my friends
and to make new friends!

I dream
of a white Christmas.
that's all. ;-)

I plan
on going on a road trip.
on taking a photography class.
and taking three billion photos.
on taking voice lessons.
on going to an art class.
on reading a ridiculous amount of books.

on making
and eating
lots of cupcakes.

Day 28: A scar you have and it's story.

I have a two-inch scar on my leg from a barbed-wire fence.
I was picking blackberries at 6 AM.
Incidentally my sister has a scar on the same place on her leg
from the exact same fence.

Day 27: A physical feature you love.

So I decided to take a different spin on this one.
I am going to do a specific feature that I love belonging to specific person.

Robert Downey Jr.'s eyes.

I usually tend to like blue/green/grey eyes on guys, but sometimes brown eyes really get me.

And this doesn't mean I'm obsessed with him, think he's a great person, etc.
 Really.

I think he has a lot of issues, actually.

A lot.

But I think he is amazing in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and Sherlock Holmes.

I also think it's cool because he's good-looking even though he is sorta old. :-)
And he has a really good smile.

Okay. I love his hair, too.
He is one of those people who loses everything when he loses his hair.
At some point he had super-short hair... and it was beyond horrific.

I love this face he makes in Iron Man. :-)

Day 26: A childhood memory.

So Juli, Sam, Bethany, and I were really weird children.
And we apparently knew too much history and had watched too many Holocaust movies.
We were all probably under nine or ten, and we decided to play Holocaust up in our attic.

So we tied Juli up to a post and the rest of us were Nazis and pretended to
put out her eyes with our toy iron, beat her with whips, etc.
Needless to say... our parents didn't know that we were doing that...

Day 25: A recipe.

Strawberry Lemonade

You will need:

1/2 gallon water
1/2 sparkling water
Yellow or strawberry lemonade concentrate
Frozen strawberries
Ice

Pour one-half gallon water and one-half gallon sparkling water into a one-gallon pitcher. Add yellow or strawberry lemonade concentrate (follow instructions for one gallon).
Add frozen strawberries and ice to taste.

This is one of the best substances in the entire world.

Day 24: A movie no one would expect you to love.

"Live Free or Die Hard"

It's on my top ten favorite movies.
It's so action-packed, it's pretty ridiculous.
It's rated R.
And I love it. So. Much.
We do watch it on ClearPlay. :-)

John McClane, the main character, is beyond amazing.
He is a simple, awesome, tough-as-nails brute. I love guys like that.

Check out the preview here.

Day 22: A website

It is an awesome online shopping resource, and has lots of different good brands for not-too-bad price. You enter all your measurements and it recommends clothing for your specific body type, and you can add items you love to your "wishlist", where you can keep an eye on them for when they go on sale and all.

 Anyway, it is super awesome, AND if you join through this referral link, you will get a $25 gift code to use on your first purchase! And I will get one too, as soon as you make a purchase. :-) Go here to find good coupon codes that you can stack with your gift code.

Day 21: Something you know you do differently than most people.

I notice things. Like weird things. About people. Some of my friends are like this, which makes for great "OH MY WORD ME TOO!" moments... but everyone in my family is like, "What in the world...? You noticed his toenails?"

Yeah. Like I always notice what someone's hands look like. You could name somebody in church and I could tell you what their hands are like.

I also notice peoples' ears a lot. And the obvious one-- eye color. Bethany says, "it's weird how you always know what color peoples' eyes are." But I mean... if they are talking to you and you're looking in their eyes... how can you NOT notice what color they are??

Day 20: A hobby of yours.

Shopping. :-)

Day 19: A talent of yours.

My brother Benjamin thinks I should post about my stain-removing skills.

He provides me many opportunities to practice...tomato sauce on his white tie, grease dripped all over the front of his red shirt, weird white splatters all over his black suit...mustard on the back of his t-shirt (don't ask me how he did that), and lots and lots of grass stains.
This is actually odd, because he is a very clean and organized person...

And by the way, Zout is a good stain-removing product. :-)

Day 18: A time when you felt passionate and alive.

Whenever I
Dance.

Most especially when I danced
at my brother Joseph's wedding in May.

Photo taken by His and Her Photography at Joseph and Hannah's wedding.

Day 17: An art piece

"The Tempest" by John William Waterhouse.
I have a print of this on my bedroom wall.
It makes me happy.

Day 16: A person you admire.

There are so many people I admire...
but I decided to pick a famous person who takes a stand for Christianity.
Because people like that are so rare.

Tim Tebow is a homeschooled, outspoken Christian who played college football for the Florida Gators, and will be playing pro football for the Denver Broncos this season.
(Read the Wikipedia article about him here.)

He made statements in favor of purity, against abortion,
 and writes Bible verse references in the black stuff on his face.
(Okay, I can't remember what it's called...)

And even though he has received a lot of flak for his outspoken beliefs,
he is still a respected athlete.
Because he totally rocks as a football player.

(That's him in the blue--jumping over the yellow stripey guy.)

Day 15: A vacation you would like to take.

Paris.

Italy.

Hands down, without a doubt.
The end.

Day 14: A guilty pleasure

Goodness... I have so many. But here's the top two.

Donuts. Oh yes.

And Lipton sweet iced tea.
It's caffeinated, and loaded with sugar. I get shaky and nauseous every time I have it.
But it's oh-so-yummy.

Day 13: A song that makes you cry

A lot of songs make me very sad... but only a few actually make me cry.
This is one of them. The whole concept of losing someone you are engaged to is super-sad to me...
...sadder than having your husband die.
Also, tragic war songs tend to get me. :P

I love this music video, too. Carrie Underwood's outfits are adorable!

I gotta say, though... I really wish she would cut back on the black gooey eye makeup. Sheesh.

Day 12: A song you want played at your wedding.

I couldn't think of hardly anything... a lot of the songs I love are sad. There are very few love songs that I really like--a lot of them are dumb.

But here's one I like pretty well.

Day 11: A photo of you taken recently.

Sorry, I'm skipping day 10, because I don't have any pictures on my computer of me from 10 years ago.

Heh heh. I know this is a weird picture... I took it of myself when were on the Mexican cruise. :-)
