moleskines.

these are my eight moleskine notebooks. I am officially addicted.

this is my art journal. unlined, heavy paper that can sort of handle watercolor and permanent marker.

this is my pocket-sized red planner. I got it for Christmas, but it starts in June of last year, so it has all this annoying/tantalizing empty space in the beginning...

therefore: song lyrics.

this is my red volant notebook, for my one-thousand-gifts-listing.

this is my black cahier lined notebook, for Bible study, sermon notes, etc.

this is my 2012 goals/month lists/relevant quotes/book lists notebook (also a cahier lined journal).

this is my prayer-journal, inspired by The HelpAibileen talks about how she writes her prayers out, and I was like--I should try that. so I did, and it works way better for me. you know how praying can turn into daydreaming/worrying/getting sidetracked in general? this helps me be consistent and focused, and remember to pray for the people I've committed to pray for.

this is my comfily-battered pocket-size notebook for pasting pretty or sentimental things.

and this is my pocket-size, everything-I-want-to-remember-for-eventually notebook. it's for brilliant pinterest ideas, hot mama contracts, courtship behavior contracts... stuff like that. :)

anyways. yes. I do love my moleskines. :) and I can already think of a good use for two more...

also: my friend Beka gave me socks with hearts and red bows. it's amazing how wearing a cute, mildly un-matching outfit can make my day so much better. even if I kind of just want to ooze around in fuzzy pajamas all day long. once I change and throw my hair into a ponytail and put on rumberry lotion (Hadley! ♥), I am ready to conquer the world.

any recent addictions? pick-me-ups? things that help you conquer the world?

  11. The way people keep talking about moleskins makes me want to get some. And by the way, the fact that you wrote Without You in one of the them makes me quite happy.

  12. love all your moleskins! I have way too many journals so it's cool to see someone else too. I lug 'em with me and then feel bad...there's just something not quite so comforting as actually writing! :) I already have several books with similar themes (1,000 gifts, prayer, random thoughts, ideas) but you've given me some more ideas...hmmm. Where can I go get me some more??

  27. I like your 1000 gifts list. ;-)

  28. I just started a 1000 gifts notebook! It's so great.

This year I'm trying an experiment for my normal journal. I'm journaling and drawing on random bits of paper instead of in a book, and at the end of the year I want to either try my hand at bookbinding, or else hold them together with rings or something.

I think it will be great, because then I can put watercolor paintings, concert programs, doodles, paper doilies etc. right into the binding!

  29. I'm so happy I'm not the only one who's addicted to notebooks & moleskins! I have one in which I glue movie ticket stubs and other random things. You have the best handwriting I've ever seen in my life... <3

  33. you have got to be kidding me. this is extraordinary. I lovelovelove notebooks--well, paper in general if we're being honest--but I have no moleskines specifically. jealous.

    oh, and:
    "without you" = ♥
    "good life" = ♥
scribbling down lyrics in general = ♥
    your handwriting = ♥
a prayer journal like in The Help (why didn't I think of that?) = ♥
the anchor drawn on your thumb = ♥
pasting things in notebooks = ♥
tickets to Les Mis, Thor, and Captain America = ♥
    funky socks = ♥

uhm, if you're really wondering, I conquer the world by singing really, really loud... (:

  34. Hmm. I think I should also invest on moleskines this year. Nice that you have a prayer journal. You gave me an idea. My journal is full of random posts. hahaha.

Notebooks and journals are really one of my favorite things!

    Love this post! :)

  35. This post was rather inspiring actually. From a fellow writer, it was beautiful to see someone who does similar things as I do. Your journals are beautiful, and your handwriting is lovely! Keep writing, no matter what. :)

  41. I have been a notebook addict for a very long time... :) I love your collection! And it's funny that you should be writing a 1000 gifts list, because I just started one! Did you read One Thousand Gifts? I'm not quite done with it yet... :) ~Emily

  42. Wow, this really made me want to get these!

I'm amazed how organized you are, I can never seem to stick to a single topic or use for my notebooks without straying off or running out of things to put in them.

Fantastic pictures and a solid post!

  45. I could stare at pretty notebooks all day. So many things in my life have been happily digitized, but I just can't digitize my planner or my journal - at least not until there is much, much better handwriting-on-tablet software.

  46. I LOVE FUNKY SOCKS!!!!! Especially when they don't go with an outfit. XD Try wearing striped toe socks with ballet flats. That's my fav. :)

  51. I am officially inspired... haha. I love the idea of writing down 2012's "gifts." What a great way to stay focused. I, too, have a journal obsession, but I have never owned a moleskin. Must have one now! =)

  52. I like journals too. I always thought I was weird because I had more than one journal for different things. Now I see I'm not alone although you have was surpassed me with 8. - I love your handwriting by the way!

  56. Well I don't know if you will get my comment since your original post is more than a year ago. However, just saw your notebooks through The blog Notebook Stories. They are awesome. Your handwriting is beautiful and I am inspired! Very inspired!! I have let my notebooks become lonely in boxes and on shelves, but now I have the desire to show them some love. I especially love the idea of using one for a prayer journal. Thank you SO much for sharing your notebooks.
